Ukraine Strikes Hard Against Russia and We Have the Video: The Ukrainian Armed Forces claimed in a Telegram post on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, that they had successfully struck Russia’s Bolkhov semiconductor plant in Oryol Oblast.

The high-value Russian military target, buried deep inside enemy territory, has been described by Ukraine as one of the largest producers of semiconductor components, supplying hardware for Russian fighter jets and missiles.

In the statement, the Ukrainian military said it was “one of the leading enterprises in the Russian Federation in the field of development and production of semiconductor devices and components.”

Ukrainian General Staff said that ten drones struck the building and that the full consequences of the strike are still being determined.

Images shared online reveal the extent of the apparent damage, with video footage depicting a fire and substantial damage to the plant.

The plant is a known target for the Ukrainian military and has been sanctioned by the United States over the substantial role it plays in the Russian military-industrial complex.

Ukraine Attacks: How Did Russia Respond?

In response to the attack, Oryol region Governor Andrei Klychkov said that several private residential buildings were also damaged in the attack, acknowledging that the large-scale strike was successful. Klychkov also said that work is currently underway to repair the plant and that no casualties were reported.

In response to the broader wave of drone attacks from Ukraine, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that its air defenses had intercepted 127 drones across nine regions and the Black Sea between May 20 and the morning of May 21.

Despite the interception, the Bolkhov plant sustained significant damage, with some reports claiming that the plant was left inoperable.

The Russian government has not issued a detailed public statement addressing the attack, though it comes as President Vladimir Putin doubles down on his goal of establishing a “security buffer zone” along the border to prevent further Ukrainian strikes on Russian territory.
