Ukraine War

Donald Trump’s Great Ukraine War ‘Hail Mary’

Australia is sending 49 of its retired M1A1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, a move that bolsters Kyiv's armored firepower but raises significant questions about survivability on the modern battlefield. While the donation is a welcome gesture, US officials have reportedly expressed private frustration, warning that Ukraine struggles to sustain the complex tanks and highlighting their vulnerability to cheap, top-attack FPV drones. The war in Ukraine has become a "drone war," where even advanced main battle tanks are at constant risk. The effectiveness of these donated Abrams will ultimately depend on Ukraine's ability to counter this pervasive threat.

PUBLISHED on August 7, 2025, 12:39 PM EDT – Key Points and Summary – As his August 8 ceasefire deadline for the Ukraine war looms, President Donald Trump is pushing for a three-way summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

-The Kremlin has confirmed a bilateral meeting between Trump and Putin could happen as soon as next week but has rejected including Zelenskyy for now, citing unmet “conditions.”

-This diplomatic flurry comes amid escalating actions, including new U.S. tariffs and intensified Russian airstrikes.

-Despite the talk of a high-stakes summit, a real breakthrough is considered unlikely as Russia’s core demands for Ukraine’s surrender remain unchanged.

Trump Wants Trilateral Meeting With Putin and Zelenskyy on Ukraine War

US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir are are set to meet within days, the Kremlin said on Wednesday.

This announcement arrives as Trump’s ceasefire deadline for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine looms.

Trump Urges Three-Way Summit

Prior to this Kremlin admission, Trump said a three-way summit with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was a “very soon” possibility despite the horrific three-and-a-half-year conflict.

While the White House has yet to confirm any details, Putin claims the United Arab Emirates could host talks with his American counterpart as early as next week.

While Trump has expressed optimism, stating there was a “very good prospect” for the meetings, he struck a more cautious tone than in previous months: “I don’t call it a breakthrough… There are thousands of young people dying. I’m here to get the thing over with,” he explained.

Putin: Zelensky Meeting Distant Prospect

Putin has continued to emphasize that a direct meeting with Zelensky is not something that could happen soon due to unmet “conditions”.

He has also reiterated Moscow’s demands for Ukrainian neutrality and military demobilisation, along with official recognition of Russia’s annexations.

For Kyiv and its Western allies, these pleas are a non-starter for now.

Trump Stuck on Ukraine War

Throughout his 2016 election campaign, Trump claimed he could end the war within hours or days, but this has obviously not occurred.

Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, has already met Putin five times, including this week, but no significant changes have been achieved.

The Kremlin published a vague statement describing the fresh round of talks as “constructive,” while Zelenskyy said he had discussed Witkoff’s visit with Trump and European allies.

Friday Deadline Looms

Trump’s self-imposed deadline for Russia to sign  a ceasefire deal expires tomorrow, August 8th. Washington is poised to slap harsher sanctions on Moscow if an agreement is not struck by then. On Wednesday, Trump pre-emptively signed a 25% tariff on Indian imports as a response to Delhi’s continued purchase of Russian oil.

Yet even as the week draws to a close,  Russia has ramped up its airstrikes on Ukraine. Over in in Washington, Congress has approved a further $200 million in military aid to Kyiv, including drone production support, suggesting the US is preparing for the long haul.

Zelensky has publicly backed talks “in any format,” even if they include a face-to-face meeting with Putin, but he has stressed that “Europe must be a participant.”

In a post on X, he wrote: “Ukraine is not afraid of meetings and expects the same brave approach from the Russian side.”

The bar for progress remains low. Direct talks between Kyiv and Moscow have already taken place three times, yielding zero worthwhile results. And with Putin standing firm regarding his demands, an in-person meeting may prove more of a propaganda victory than a step toward peace.

It may prove to be more performance than progress. Or, it might be Trump trying to throw a Hail Mary to end the Ukraine war.

Trump is exactly like a seasoned tramp who walks the big city’s back lanes and tells the nearby dwellers, “Man, I swear I’ll remake this whole place before I am through with ya all.”

Ten years later, the place is still very much the same, except only some longtime dwellers are no longer seen.

Meanwhile, back at the main hospital mortuary, the bodies are piling up and trump the tramp is fully unaware of it.

Moral of the story – trump needs to look at the mortuary first, before loud speaking at the back lanes.

Trump is a low character type con artist who’s surprisingly popular with some of the media guys.

Hey, this is the “long Haul” Baby! You got the synopsis.

The USA MSM needs to document the 1000 year old mass abduction of Ukrianian children business, by ancient peasant russkies, the forbears of 2015 Putin.

The current 2025 Ruskie pedophile lives for the latest computer update of the “Lolita” package that tsarling Putin sends free, no-cost, the giveaway gift from 2014 POTUS Obama’s Democrat Cabal.

The Peasant Ruskie is genetically geared to genocide Ukrainians. The USA just pretends it is a western concept war, the “Potemkin Village” media panel the Yankee MSM pretends they can push to end so the media can relax.

The genocide in Yugoslavia is the warning that the USA just can not process the postemotional Balkan war and any genocide after.

Yeah, luckily, some brains in Congress still work and perceive this is a “long haul” genocide not a “Potemkin Village” MSM war. Czarina and tsarling Putin do not want the viewer in the USA to see the real Ukraine ravaged by genetically motivated ruskie pedophiles.

In 1932-33 20,000,000 Ukrainians were starved to death by Putin’s grandpappy. Just that the peasant ruskie has worn many Halloween costumes over the last 1000 years. Still, genetically the peasant ruskie will come out every Halloween to genocide Ukrainians. Butcher Putin just want to give all Ukrainians his ancient ruskie style “Trick or Treat”! -30-
