Trump Demands Iran’s ‘Unconditional Surrender’

Tensions in the Middle East surged further this week as Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian issued a stern warning to Washington, threatening “more painful responses” if Washington is unable or unwilling to stop Israel in its tracks.

His comments come after days of Israeli strikes against military and nuclear infrastructure in Iran.

Iran Slams Israeli Attacks: Trump Demands Surrender

Typical of a member of his Islamist regime, Pezeshkian complained about alleged U.S. complicity in what he slammed as Israeli “aggression”.

He also argued that the U.S. must act to cool down tensions in the region lest Iran be obliged to give “heavier and more painful responses.”

Iran’s semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that these remarks were made to the sultan of Oman, a historically neutral player in the region.

Pezeshkian’s remarks could mark a turning point. His bold declaration that all factions within the Islamic Republic—military and political—are united in the need to respond decisively underscores the regime’s intent to escalate.

Describing Israel as an “evil, despicable, terrorist Zionist identity,” Pezeshkian signaled a hardening of Iranian posture, one that casts the confrontation as existential.

The rhetoric coincides with escalating violence on the ground. Israel has struck several high-value Iranian targets in recent days, reportedly killing top military officials and nuclear scientists.

Tehran claims dozens of civilians have also been killed in the raids.

In retaliation, Iranian forces launched missile attacks on Israeli territory—actions that Israeli authorities say resulted in their own civilian casualties.

Trump Warns Against Iran’s Nuclear Ambitions

The spiraling confrontation has drawn in major powers, even if it has not yet tempted them into open combat.

U.S. forces have increased their presence in the region, though Washington has stopped short of joining Israel’s strikes.

President Donald Trump, who is once again at the helm, has offered cryptic commentary, writing on Truth Social: “IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!”

Trump later today then went back on Truth Social to state that “[W]e know exactly where the so-called “Supreme Leader” is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there – We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

He then added just a few moments later: “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER.”

Netanyahu Praises Israeli Air Dominance

On the other side of the Middle East, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not tried to downplay the scale or intent of his country’s campaign. “Our wonderful combat pilots are in the skies above the burning city of Tehran,” he declared, adding that Israel is determined to “complete the mission of removing the double threat.”

Prior to the 1979 Islamic Revolution, Iran and Israel had cordial relations, but those days are long behind them. Despite growing international concern, including from Gulf states and European diplomats, neither side appears willing to de-escalate.
