At least two people were killed and 35 injured in Russian attacks across Ukraine in the last 24 hours, as another attack set ablaze a shopping center in Zaporizhzhia
The casualties were spread across six regions as the country’s air defenses were tested when 140 drones and four missiles were launched overnight by Moscow.

Zaporizhzhia Shopping Center Attacked Again
Ivan Fedorov, co-head of the Zaporizhzhia regional Defense Council, said 57 attacks hit 52 settlements across the region.
The city suffered two missile attacks, and eight people were injured.
Acting regional governor Mykhailo Semikin said the attack damaged housing, vehicles, and a commercial building.
A fire also erupted at one impact site.
Officials are still assessing the full extent of the damage.
Firefighters said windows at hotels and on buses were damaged.
Three cars were set on fire.
One house and four outbuildings were also damaged.
The City Mall complex was attacked again this morning.
As a result of the strike, the building of the shopping mall, which was closed at the time of the attack, was damaged, and a fire broke out.
No casualties were reported as of Monday morning.
The damage follows an attack on the Epicentr home improvement chain on Thursday. Speaking to journalists, spokeswoman Yuliia Chudnovets said: “Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Poltava. Again, in less than 24 hours.”
Ukraine Intercepts 112 Drones
The Air Force said Russia launched 140 drones, including 70 jet-propelled drones.
They also launched three guided Kh-59/69 missiles and one anti-radiation Kh-31P missile.
By 8 a.m., Ukraine’s air defenses had shot down or suppressed 112 drones, including 56 jet-powered drones, as well as three Kh-59/69 guided missiles.
There were 15 impacts and four debris sites.
“The attack is ongoing; there are several enemy UAVs in the airspace. Please observe safety rules!” the Air Force said in a statement released early this morning.
Izium in north-eastern Kharkiv Oblast suffered damage to housing and a children’s sports school after guided bomb attacks. Three people were injured.
One Person Killed in Donetsk
Vadym Filashkin, governor of Donetsk, said one person died in Kramatorsk.
Throughout the region, ten people were injured, including three in Kramatorsk and four in Sloviansk.
Oleksandr Prokudin, governor of Kherson Oblast, said one person died and eight were injured in attacks on over 30 settlements.
Four people were injured in Kharkiv Oblast, including two women aged 51 and 71 and two men aged 52 and 72.
Chernihiv reported one male aged 33 and one female aged 54 being injured.
Sumy Oblast reported three people injured.
These figures total 35 injured.
Firefighters Injured
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said an industrial facility was damaged and set alight overnight in Odesa Oblast.
The attack came as firefighters fought the blaze.
“An overnight enemy attack destroyed an industrial facility, where a fire broke out. While firefighters were battling the blaze, Russian forces carried out two follow-up strikes directly on the site where they were working,” the statement said.
Firefighters were not injured as they took cover, although their equipment was damaged.
Electricity grid operator Ukrenergo said: “Over the past day, the enemy continued to attack Ukraine’s civilian energy infrastructure. As a result, as of this morning.”
It also confirmed “new power outages in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Sumy regions.”
The attacks come as Kyiv pushes for mutual restrictions on energy attacks.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday that an “energy ceasefire” could signal Moscow’s willingness to negotiate.
“We are ready to talk. If it’s a territorial issue, it must be addressed at a leadership level,” he added.
But Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha was more direct with his comments today, stating, “This war cannot be ended by stopping Ukraine’s resistance. It can only be ended by stopping the aggressor’s attacks.”
Ukraine Needs More Interceptors
Earlier this month, Zelenskyy proposed halting attacks on Russia’s oil refineries for a month in return for American support in the replenishment of Patriot missiles.
He has continued to warn that Kyiv’s U.S. supply is running low.
“We could pause strikes on Russian oil refineries for 30 days, and in return, we would expect America to help us defend the sky for 30 days – only 30 days – specifically with Patriot interceptors. That, I believe, would be fair, but unfortunately, we have not heard any offers to help with that option, either,” Zelenskyy said, according to the Kyiv Post.
