Donald Trump Just Handed the World A Big Clue He Might Have a Plan to Try and End the Ukraine War Once and For All

Trump says he’s working on a ‘big, beautiful deal’ to end the Ukraine war that could involve all of Europe, after meeting Putin’s special envoy. Ahead of talks in Abu Dhabi, a deal would give Trump a much-needed win after the GOP’s midterm losses, though every attempt so far has failed.

Trump Teases ‘Big, Beautiful Deal’ to End Ukraine War After Meeting With Putin Envoy – President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he was working on a “big, beautiful deal” to end the Ukraine war after meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s special envoy.

After meeting with Russian special envoy Kirill Dmitriev at the White House, Trump told reporters, “I can’t tell you what I discussed, but I’m just telling you, it’s going to be an agreement, it’s going to be a big agreement.”

Peace Deal Will ‘Involve More Than Ukraine,’ Says Trump

“It’s going to be very big,” he continued. “It’s going to involve more than Ukraine, and I could even say it might involve all of Europe. It’s going to be a big, beautiful agreement, and everyone’s going to be thrilled.”

The president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, also weighed in on the ongoing agreements, claiming in a social media post that they were working to “establish a sustainable security framework” for both Russia and Ukraine.

“Our objective is to develop practical arrangements that address the security concerns of all sides, reduce the risk of future conflict, and create a more stable and predictable security environment,” he stated, adding that the United States would convene peace discussions with Russia and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi next week.

Russian and Ukrainian Delegations Visited the White House This Week

Delegations from Russia and Ukraine visited the White House on Thursday for an event organized by First Lady Melania Trump, who has been working personally to establish peace in the region.

Addressing a recent ceasefire agreement in Oleshky — which was secured after the First Lady served as an intermediary — Melania Trump said, “The ceasefire in Oleshky would not be possible without President Putin and President Zelenskyy. Their cooperation establishes a meaningful precedent for advancing peace throughout the region.”

While the president spoke with Russia’s special envoy on Thursday, he reportedly did not speak with the Ukrainian delegation.

Securing an End to the Ukraine War Would Be a Much-Needed Distraction For Trump After Disastrous Iran War and Midterm Wipeout

It is unsurprising that Trump has turned his attention to the war in Ukraine after the Republican Party lost control of both the House and Senate on Tuesday.

Securing a peace deal between the two states would do much to distract from the Republican Party’s catastrophic defeat, as well as the president’s unpopular war against Iran, and would be a much-needed achievement to secure his legacy.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis described the Democratic Party’s victory in the midterms this week as “close to an extinction-level event for Republicans.”

Vice President JD Vance also acknowledged in a lengthy post-mortem that the Iran war, and its economic consequences, had played a major role in the Republican Party losing control of both the House and Senate.

Trump Initially Promised to End Ukraine War Within 24 Hours of Becoming President

President Trump has repeatedly tried to bring Russia’s conflict with Ukraine to an end since entering his second term in the White House. However, all attempts so far have failed.

During the 2024 election, Trump repeatedly promised to end the war within 24 hours of taking office.

“I know Zelenskyy, I know Putin, it’ll be done in 24 hours, you watch,” he vowed in 2023. “They all say, ‘That’s such a boast.’ It will be done very quickly.”

More than three years on, the war shows no sign of stopping, and it’s entirely possible that the conflict will still be going on when Trump’s successor takes office following the 2028 presidential election.

Following his inauguration in January 2025, Trump cut U.S. aid to Ukraine, leaving the UK and other European allies to pick up the slack.

Recently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has repeatedly issued demands for more U.S. Patriot missiles to be sent to Ukraine, warning Trump that Ukrainian attacks on Russian fuel facilities would not cease until the country had received more missiles.

Last month, Trump publicly called for Zelenskyy to be replaced as president of Ukraine after he ignored U.S. requests to stop hitting Russian oil infrastructure.

“I suggest they get a new leader who can make a deal,” said Trump at the time. “I think it’s time for Ukraine to get a new president.”

In a response to Trump, Zelenskyy ruled out holding elections in Ukraine until after the war, claiming it would be “difficult” for Ukrainians to go to the polls until conflict with Russia had ceased.
