PUBLISHED on August 14, 2025, 2:00 pm EDT – Key Points and Summary: As the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska approaches, Ukrainian intelligence predicts Vladimir Putin will use “pseudo-historical speculations” and old maps to argue that Ukraine is an “artificial state,” thereby justifying Russia’s territorial claims.

-This tactic is part of a high-stakes negotiation where analysts warn of the “real danger” of redrawing borders as if countries were mere real estate.

-Some experts, like former diplomat Brett McGurk, are urging President Trump to emulate Ronald Reagan’s firm stance at Reykjavik and demand that Putin stop the war on principle, rather than falling for manipulation.

The ‘Real Danger’ of the Trump-Putin Summit Isn’t What You Think

Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump are set to meet in Alaska on Friday for their first summit since Trump returned to office earlier this year.

Many things are taking place in the lead-up, from Russian attempts to seize more land to reports that Russia may be planning a missile launch before the meeting.

Now, a Ukrainian group that combats misinformation is predicting what Putin may argue in the meeting with his American counterpart.

Per a report by the Center for Countering Disinformation, a Ukrainian group, the Russian president is planning to marshal “historical materials,” using “pseudo-historical speculations” claiming to show that Ukraine is not a legitimate state.

An “Artificial State”

“These are geographical maps which, according to Putin’s plan, are intended to convince Trump that Ukraine is supposedly an ‘artificial state,’ formed at the expense of territories of other countries,” the English-language version of the site says. “This is allegedly meant to justify the Kremlin’s military aggression against Ukraine and Russia’s claims on Ukrainian territories.”

The Center was not clear on where they got the information that Putin plans to do so in this meeting in particular, although Putin has done similar things in the past, including, according to the Kyiv Independent, when he sat down earlier with Tucker Carlson.

“Such pseudo-historical speculations are a typical tactic of russian propaganda, which Putin himself has repeatedly used in public statements,” the report says. “This approach is unacceptable under international law, which clearly establishes the principles of territorial integrity, inviolability of borders, and the illegality of the use or threat of force.”

The report went on to defend Ukraine from that charge.

“Most modern countries or parts of them were historically part of other states,” the Center concludes. “This applies to present-day Russia as well, which was once part of the Golden Horde, and many current Russian territories previously belonged to other countries – Germany, Sweden, Finland, etc. However, no historical facts, let alone pseudo-historical fantasies, can justify territorial claims or legitimize armed aggression against other countries.”

“The Real Danger”

Time magazine, this week, looked at what author Peter Pomerantsev of The Reckoning Project SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins described as the “real danger” of the summit. It’s apropos, he said, that the summit is taking place in Alaska, a place that the U.S. bought from Russia in the 19th century.

“It’s as if whoever selected the location is suggesting there’s nothing particularly dramatic for lines on maps to be redrawn, that you can swap parts of countries as if they were mere real estate,” he writes.

And the danger is that parts of Ukraine will be given away by the U.S. president.

“Russia’s occupation of eastern parts of Ukraine isn’t just a land-grab. Its aim is to wipe out independent Ukrainian identity; to redefine who the local people think and feel they are at the barrel of a gun,” Pomerantsev writes. “It’s a vast project of enforced social engineering that takes us back to the Age of Empire, when colonizers imposed their will on conquered subjects. It’s reminiscent of some of the darkest parts of the 20th century, when totalitarian dictatorships used terror to compel obedience on captured nations.”

Be Like Reagan

But there’s another possibility. As suggested on CNN by Brett McGurk, who has served as a foreign policy adviser for the last four presidents, Trump should take his inspiration from Ronald Reagan, in his summits with Soviet leaders in the 1980s, specifically the Reykjavik summit in 1986.

“Putin will arrive in Alaska believing he can manipulate Trump. The US may be the far more powerful country, but Russia is the power in Ukraine and Putin is fully committed to his objective there: to subjugate the entire country. He believes his commitment to those aims is greater than Trump’s commitment to supporting Ukraine to blunt them,” McGurk writes.

“Trump should not fall for this,” he says.

“In sum, the president of the United States is arriving at this summit in a far stronger position than the president of Russia, and the negotiation strategy should reflect that equation. This is an opportunity to demand and stick to principle, which is the only path to peace. Putin must agree to stop the war he started, or else we should leave Alaska empty-handed.”

For once, this op-edr has mostly avoided the “War” word. In 2014, POTUS Obama’s Democrat Cabal greenlighted unilaterally the re-start of the ancient 1000 year old genOcide of Ukrainians by the ethnic russkie peasants. Even in 1616 the Ukrainian Fathers had to raise taxes to fight/defeat the russkie sex traders who bi-annually ran sex trade caravans across Ukraine, Harvesting children right after they butche4red the parents.

So, even in 1932-33 the russkie forebears of Putin starved 20,000,000 Ukrainians in a deliberate act of genocide called the HOLODOMOR. Strangely for an Ashkenazi, the russkie act of Genocide never comes up in the op-ed. Many Yankee’s get confused when the encounter the russkie in Halloween mode: the russskie is in a costume of a particular time period as they happily butcher Ukrainians.

The fact that the USA greenlighted this genocide re-start in 2014 is a “forbidden” fact inside the USA MSM. The action of marxist Obama betraying the WEST, NATO and Europe seems best left completely omitted.

The real tragedy is that the EU refused to fight back in public. As each nation in Europe knew that Obama was betraying the WEST in 2013-14, they decided to keep silent and let the orc russkies re-start their ancient genocide need for this killing psychology.

Today, in 2025, the perpetrator USA is selling out the EU but with a warning. The free ride with US Tax dollars is being withdrawn, and the EU tax payer needs to step up and fight for their tax takeout for defence to be at least at 5%.

The WEST is leaderless. The is no-one who can fight for Victory of the WEST, that is, full Victory for Ukraine. Trump just sticks some fake scam blather show in front of the USA MSM, self appoints himself as chief adjudicator, and the EU gets screwed.

The CCP Zi regime fully funds this military hardware and men supply for his vassal tsarling Putin. Ukraine just does not have the man power to handle every duty inside Ukraine.

The EU must send in at least as a minimum the same manpower as the Zi regime sends to genocide Ukrainians. Now, Immediately. Sitting around at NATO Power luncheons for EU big wigs is a sure sign to the HAN CCP Zi regime that they can bankroll vassal Putin to use Zi regime technology to invade his select spot in Europe. Read the op-ed from Michta to prove the above wrong.
