Trump Promises 1,000 Missiles Will Hit Iran After His Assassination In New Threat: U.S. President Donald Trump issued a shocking warning on Friday, July 10, telling Iran that in the event he is assassinated, he will wipe out the entire country with more than 1,000 missiles. Writing on Truth Social, the president appeared to be responding to reports of Israeli intelligence indicating that Iranian militants were planning the assassination of the U.S. president.
What Trump Said

Writing on his social media platform, the U.S. president said that “1,000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat, pronounced in many corners of the Globe, to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate, the sitting President of the United States of America, in this case, ME!
The president also said that the instructions had already been delivered to the Pentagon and that they would remain in place for at least one year.
“Orders have already been given, and the U.S. Military is ready, willing, and able, for a one year period of time, subject to extension, to completely decimate and destroy all areas of Iran,” the president said.
Neither the White House nor the Pentagon has released any additional details confirming that exactly 1,000 missiles have been assigned to specific Iranian targets, with the only official indication that Washington is preparing to respond to a potential assassination coming from the president’s social media post. Trump has not identified the weapons, nor their launch platforms or the locations from which they may be fired. He has not identified specific Iranian military or government targets, nor has he said that specific infrastructure would be hit.
The president’s comments simply suggest that the entire country will come under threat.
The threat also preceded Tehran’s announcement on Saturday, July 11, that the Strait of Hormuz was closed in all lanes except the northern route. Iran continues to push back against Washington, with reports also suggesting that mourners during ongoing funeral ceremonies across Tehran and the rest of the country publicly threatened to execute the U.S. president.
Iran Promises Revenge
The warning from Washington comes after the new supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, publicly called for retribution for the deaths of his father, former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In a statement published on Saturday, July 11, by Iranian state television, Khamenei pledged to “take revenge.”
“We pledge to take revenge for the pure blood of you and all the martyrs of these two wars from the criminal and disgraceful killers,” he said. “This revenge is the will of our nation and must certainly be carried out.”
While Khamenei refrained from naming the U.S. president, Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are evidently two of the most high-profile figures responsible for the February 28 U.S.-Israeli operation that killed Ali Khamenei and senior Iranian commanders. If anyone were targeted for revenge, it would be the leaders of the two countries responsible for the attacks.
Earlier this week, reports published photographs of banners being carried by mourners in Tehran, calling for the murder of Trump and Netanyahu.
Iran Has Tried This Before
If Iran is plotting to kill the U.S. president or other government officials, it would not be the first time. There have been several criminal cases in which American prosecutors have accused Iranian operatives of attempting to organize assassinations inside the United States.
In November 2024, for example, the Justice Department charged Farhad Shakeri, an Iranian national who was described as an IRGC asset. Shakeri was accused of participating in murder-for-hire operations on behalf of the Iranian regime. According to the federal complaint, one IRGC official instructed Shakeri in October 2024 to produce a plan within seven days to kill President Trump.
Shakeri allegedly told FBI investigators that he did not intend to meet the deadline because he believed that Trump was going to lose the November 2024 election and would therefore be easier to assassinate after he left the campaign trail. Shakeri remained at large and was understood to be living in Iran by the time the charges were announced.
The Ceasefire Is Over
The threat is particularly credible now that both Iran and the United States have effectively declared the June memorandum of understanding (MOU) null and void. Trump announced earlier on Friday, July 10, that while the ceasefire was over, negotiations would still continue.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran has asked us to continue ‘talks.’ We have agreed to do so, but the United States has stated to them, in no uncertain terms, that the Cease Fire is OVER!” Trump said on Truth Social.
With the ceasefire effectively over, Trump is now making it quite clear that any Iranian attempt on his life would not make Tehran’s demands more likely to be accepted. Instead, it would result in the devastation of Iranian infrastructure and the end of the regime.
And, to make matters worse, Iran has claimed to have closed the Strait of Hormuz again.
