Key Points and Summary – The brief “honeymoon” between President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin at the start of Trump’s second term is decisively over.
-Frustrated by a lack of progress on a Ukraine ceasefire, Trump’s patience has worn thin, leading him to issue a series of ultimatums, including a looming August 8 deadline for Russia to end the war.
-The U.S. has ramped up pressure by deploying nuclear submarines near Russia and threatening “secondary tariffs” against Moscow’s allies.
-With Putin showing no signs of compromising on his key demands, the “Trump-Putin reset” appears to have failed.
Trump’s Patience with Putin Wears Thin
When Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office earlier this year, he handed Vladimir Putin something rare in U.S.-Russia relations: a clean slate.
Back then, it looked like a deal on Ukraine might even be within reach.
Trump’s envoys were welcomed in Moscow, the U.S. surprisingly backed Russia at the UN, and talk of a bilateral summit floated freely between capitals.
But six months on, that brief honeymoon is over.
Trump’s Deadline Nears
What began as a charm offensive from Trump has turned into a cascade of ultimatums. The U.S. president has publicly condemned Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities as “disgraceful,” accused Putin of talking “********” about diplomacy, and warned of serious consequences if the Kremlin continues to stall.
Behind closed doors, his administration has grown increasingly frustrated as Putin refuses to sign on to a ceasefire.
Trump initially gave the Russian leader a 50-day deadline to end the war. That ultimatum was later slashed to just ten days. The latest deadline, expected to expire on August 8, now looms large. So far, there’s no indication that Moscow is planning to yield.
As it stands, Trump is happy to ramp up pressure on Putin, already confirming that a pair of two U.S. nuclear submarines had been moved closer to Russia. The administration has also announced sweeping new tariffs on Russian allies like India and China, another calculated attempt to box Putin in.
Washington Loses Patience with Putin
It’s a far cry from the early weeks of Trump’s second term. In February, the U.S. voted against a European resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. At that point, Trump’s diplomatic fire was aimed more at NATO and traditional U.S. allies than the Kremlin.
Russian state media openly celebrated what it saw as the end of Western unity.
Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff, who has already made four visits to Moscow, is back in Russia this week. However it remains unclear what is actually on the table for Washington.
Russia Has No Room For Compromise
Putin, at least, seems unmoved on his key demands: no Ukraine NATO membership, territorial handovers, and strict limits on Ukraine’s military.
But the August 8 deadline is now just days away. Will Putin blink? Or will Trump escalate?
One thing is clear: whatever goodwill once existed between the two leaders has evaporated. And without a dramatic shift in course, the “Trump-Putin reset” may soon be remembered as just another failed detour in a long, bitter standoff.

Donald jacko taco trump has certainly picked up where joe biden left off.
Biden’s wars have now become trump’s wars. In gaza and in donbass.
Will anything good come out of it. Well, biden now has got cancer which is right now gnawing at his bones.
Good luck WITH THAT.
TRUMP ?
Trump now looks ill and nervous, aged and distant or disconnected, prone to rambling and speaking off topic.
Why.
Because trump is today deeply troubled by the ongoing brouhaha over his connections with epstein.
Trump had a close friendship with epstein for over 15 years.
Fifteen years.
Can’t deny he knew zip over epstein’s secret work. Who would believe you.
Good luck when Maxwell spills the beans.
Trump will surely end up in hot water !

The “Detour” started with marxist thinking FDR giving in to STALIN at every conference. Even today, leftie=pinkoe Democrats laud + bathe in FDR praise fests.
While Truman may have officially Butchered an independent HAN people nation of China, FDR dreamed of a Stalin takeover.
Today, marxist POTUS Obama’s Democrat Cabal installed “czarings” so as to avoid those pesky questions from Congress. In 2014 POTUS Obama’s Cabal unilaterally greenlighted the loss of the WEST’s advantage in controlling the Ukraine’s Crimean soil, families and Black/Azov Sea zones to the prime vile cold war enemy of the WEST: tsarling Putin.
So, the detour is generational. The US State department was delusionally obsecced with handing over the Independence of the Han nation to the butcher Stalin + his flunkie butcher in training Mao Tse Tung!
Putin has a long game. Putin will have 1000 unmanned drones commanded by one, that is 1, AI unit, a hundred of which are commanded by one, that is 1, live Zi supplied live body. And, hundreds of millions of drone reserves, sitting, ready to be activated.
Putin can detour the aged Yankee POTUS who can not comprehend a 1000 year old need to genOcide Ukrainians. Yeah, MAGA Trump just can not process even 500 years of orc russian sex traders hunting furiously for their next “Lolita” in the hinterlands of Ukraine. Trump may be permanently stuck inside the history of his spa of MAr-a-lago being raided by Epstein.
Today, the 8th, the world will see if Trump caves in to the commie orc muscovite machine. If Trump refuses to demand the immediate return of 100% of illegally occupied soil of Ukraine, the tsarling Putin has manipulated Trump into the biggest world wide loser on this era. Putin’s art of the deal is superior and Trump has moved Putin from loser way, way up to the position of CZAR: over the dead bodies of millions of Americans who fought the commie red menace since May 9, 1945.
MAGA Trump will SELF-Decide today if he publicly self-slits his own political throat while sitting on the very throne of Yankee military Power. Save the Victory for the WEST or just sell out independent Ukraine to the genocide “Lolita” hunting ruskies is the team line-up today. -30-
The peer readers are sniffing the odours coming off of Trump. How do those pesky flies sniff out a freshly dead person so, so very accurately? I know, the scientific fact of the huge gigantic size of their microscopic sized brains. NOT! -30-
