Trump Calls Russia the “Aggressor” in Ukraine—A First

Australia is sending 49 of its retired M1A1 Abrams tanks to Ukraine, a move that bolsters Kyiv's armored firepower but raises significant questions about survivability on the modern battlefield. While the donation is a welcome gesture, US officials have reportedly expressed private frustration, warning that Ukraine struggles to sustain the complex tanks and highlighting their vulnerability to cheap, top-attack FPV drones. The war in Ukraine has become a "drone war," where even advanced main battle tanks are at constant risk. The effectiveness of these donated Abrams will ultimately depend on Ukraine's ability to counter this pervasive threat.

Key Points and Summary – In his sharpest break yet from past rhetoric, President Donald Trump labeled Russia the “aggressor” in Ukraine, citing a weekly toll of 8,000 dead and hinting at tougher U.S. sanctions.

-The shift follows months of mixed signals—from blocking a U.N. resolution on Ukraine’s territorial integrity to scolding Kyiv for “recklessness.”

Trump: Russia is ‘Aggressor’ in Ukraine War

U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly slammed Russia as the “aggressor” in its ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, Trump cited the grim human cost of recent battles. “8,000 soldiers have died this week, from both countries. Some more from Russia, but when you’re the aggressor, you lose more,” he said.

Trump Explicitly Slams Invasion For First Time

The statement marks a departure from his earlier position, which often echoed Kremlin talking points and placed the onus on Kyiv to accept a deal. Until now, Trump had refused to explicitly condemn Russia’s 2022 invasion. In February, just weeks after entering office, his administration even joined Russia and North Korea in blocking a United Nations resolution that affirmed Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

As recently as April, Trump openly accused Ukraine of recklessness: “You don’t start a war against someone 20 times your size and then hope that people give you some missiles,” he blasted. However over the summer, the White House’s posture has grown more confrontational with Moscow.

Putin Refuses Threeway Summit

With Russian President Vladimir Putin refusing Trump’s offers to mediate peace talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Washington has sought to exert more pressure on the Kremlin. “I stopped seven wars, and I thought this one was going to be easy for me, but this has turned out to be tough,” Trump admitted. “They hate each other so much they can’t breathe.”

The high-profile shift has fueled speculation about whether Trump is preparing to back harsher economic penalties. On Sunday, he suggested  fresh sanctions could be on the cards, but stressed that Europe must end its reliance on Russian energy before these are enacted by Washington. “They are still buying oil from Russia,” he complained of European allies, adding that: “The sanctions that they are putting on are not tough enough.”

EU Pressured to Dump Russian Energy

Trump’s foreign policy has often followed this kind of route: signalling a willingness to increase pressure on Russia, but only if others share the cost. Hungary and Slovakia remain among the European Union’s largest buyers of Russian oil and have resisted Brussels’ push to phase it out.

Trump appears keen on pressuring them to independently cool ties with Moscow before the U.S. itself makes any escalations.

U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright reinforced the administration’s stance last week, telling POLITICO that Washington aims “to displace all Russian gas. The more we can strangle Russia’s ability to fund this murderous war, the better for all of us.”

Still, Trump’s track record of backtracks and acid-tongued commentary has left not just Kyiv, but governments across Europe, uncertain.

After the Keith Kellog presentation in Kiev yesterday, where he categorically stated Russia is losing the war and made additional comments about the overall correlation of forces vis-a-vis Russia and the United States, we could be in the most dangerous stage of this war yet.

(Some people want more than a proxy war.)

Add on the statements made by Trump this morning… and the warning bells are ringing for a dangerous escalation of events.

Certainly, no end in sight and likely a bitter fight to the end.

Although, Europe won’t impose all-out sanctions against India & China or cut-off Russian Hydrocarbons via third parties entirely because it would be committing economic suicide. And, their populaces are getting politically restless… the political sands are literally shifting beneath their feet… not in a good way.

Partly because of this war and the poor economies caused by this war amid social upheaval.

What gives… does Trump pull-back because of the failure of Europe to fully commit to sanctions and could this be his way to tell the Washington Establishment… more money and weapons is throwing good money after bad… given Europe’s refusal to fully sanction India & China.

Of course, the United States isn’t willing to fully sanction China either, so why should Europe commit economic suicide, when, apparently, the U. S. won’t?

Something’s gotta give… who’s trying to increase the pressure, raise the tension, seemingly looking for escalation dominance?

That would look to be Donald Trump.

You know something… this looks to be a train wreck coming down the tracks.

Because the Russians have a totally different view of the war.

    We’ll see who is right.

The Time for MAGA POTUS Leadership of the WEST has vanished. Trumpkins has self-abdicated that leadership position.

The EU and UK have cooperated with Ukrainian missile/drome makers to evolve into effective leadership in that manufacture.

The time has come for a bold move to Earn the NOBEL Peace Prize! Yes, earn it. Xi needs to ask Ukraine to the Genocide Table. Xi can stop his vassal tsarling Puti from extended craziness by declaring the stop of a Lin Biao fate for Xi. -30-

The need for self-promotion of the MAGA POTUS has slowly withered.

While the need was so turgid in January. the early, quick self-abdication of this leader of the WEST position has withered the red herring that Trump represents the WEST.

The tongue may be acid laced, but the brain is busy with the high level strategy of flipping coins. The need to actually read Ukrainian History stops this MAGA POTUS from any level of self-appointment as a self-adjudicator of the ancient 1000 year old Genocide of Ukrainians by Russkie sex-slave traders of old.

But, the US MSM + op-ed just are too world self-centred to depict that the other empires are playing world class chess.

Just as the USA urgently needs to understand 1000 years of ruusskie ethnic butchery, aka aggression, the MAGA POTUS displays to the other world leaders that he is uneducated, particularly about Ukraine and incapable of even basic adjudication, say above a grade 2 level.

Sending a weirdo Whackkooff Clawn slimer show around the Globe only confirms that world leaders have seen Part I of the Clown show and the seating is suddenly being vacated. The other leaders are now equipping themselves and Ukraine slowly for the kinetic solution to the raving Putin Genocide line. The 24 hour solution kiddies are back inside the White House after recess.

The pre-election red alert was the repeat of ignorant ravings that as POTUS, magic 24 hour fairy dust would be sprinkled from his hair and stop Putin’s front line of Genocide and Putin’s mass abduction of Little children for his “Lolita” packages. The tragedy seems to be that some significant number of Yankee voters inhaled this MAGA fairy dust.

The MAGA POTUS is not capable of adjudicating outside of mainland USA. The 1000 years of Genocide predate by centuries even the concept of the USA.

The Ukrainian Cossack leader self created the World’s first written constitution. Back in 1710 the Cossack Hetman Orlyk created this constitution, that the USA imitated decades later. Why did the decades of sex-slave-trading of the orc ruusskie ethnic butchers witnessed by a Father, drive a Ukrainian Father to create the fore runner of the USA constitution?

That the world leaders now slip into defence economy to fight the Putin line of Genocide shows that the US MSM focus on MAGA POTUS is much less than useful. Following the POTUS rambling flashes of his POTMKIN VILLAGE fantasy pastiche of Ukraine, the real Ukraine silently moves closer to WORLD CLASS status and unity in Victory for the WEST. -30-
