Key Points and Summary – Kyiv’s drones reportedly reached the Antipinsky refinery near Tyumen—roughly 1,200 miles from Ukraine—in what may be the war’s deepest strike, amplifying a campaign that has idled swaths of Russia’s refining capacity.
Ukraine Hits Siberian Oil Center in What Might Be Longest Strike of the War

WARSAW, POLAND – Ukraine has conducted a drone strike on one of Russia’s largest oil refineries. Authorities in Western Siberia’s Tyumen region said they downed three drones near an industrial site on Monday evening in what may be the most significant Ukrainian drone incursion reported inside Russian territory since the start of the war.
The target was the Antipinskiy NPZ Антипинский НПЗ, a Russian oil refinery located in the south-east section of the Tyumen Oblast. The facility is one of the largest refineries in Russia, situated alongside the Tyumen trunk oil pipelines and the Tyumen-3 pumping station.
Ukraine’s series of strikes on Russian oil refineries, depots, tanker vessels, and oil off-loading facilities at Russian ports is a systematic campaign to destroy Russia’s primary source of revenue and the ability of Russian President Vladimir Putin to continue to prosecute the war he began in Ukraine in February 2022.
The campaign thus far has worked better than Ukraine’s drone forces possibly could have hoped, and according to data from Syala, a Russian energy market analysis agency, the Russian business daily RBC reported that nearly 40 percent of the nation’s refining capacity has been shut down. These production shutdowns are almost entirely due to the need for repairs after Ukraine’s drone attacks.
This has produced increasing shortages of petrol in many regions of Russia, including Moscow. In Russian-occupied Crimea, reports are that individuals are now subject to rationing and are limited to purchasing no more than five gallons at a time.

On Monday, Tyumen residents close to the facility posted videos online showing fire trucks and other emergency vehicles rushing in the direction of the oil refinery. The massive facility is the center of Siberia’s oil industry and has a processing capacity of 9 million tons of crude oil per year.
Local Telegram news channels have reported at least two explosions and disruptions in mobile telecommunications networks. This refinery is located almost 2,000 kilometers, equivalent to 1,200 miles, from the Ukrainian border.
Local Disinformation
The local Russian administration has sought to downplay any damage that might have been inflicted on the refinery, which is also a major employer in the region. The regional authorities stated that emergency crews had been dispatched to an industrial site in Antipino after reports of explosions and a fire.
The same local authorities then inexplicably reported that no fire was found at the site. Then, less than 30 minutes later, they reported that three drones had been “detected and neutralized on the premises of an enterprise.”
“A prompt response from emergency services prevented a detonation. There were no casualties, explosions or fires. All enterprises in the area continue to operate normally,” according to the Tyumen government press service.
The same press service did not comment on who might have launched the drones or where they came from in the first place. Russia’s Defense Ministry has not commented on the incident, which is strange, as the ministry typically takes credit for any successful (and sometimes also unsuccessful or made-up) shootdowns of Ukrainian drones.
Andriy Kovalenko, who runs Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council’s (RNBO) anti-disinformation center, appeared to confirm details of the attack reported by the residents in Tyumen. On Monday evening, he wrote on a Telegram post that “it’s a bad night for the Antipinsky refinery in Tyumen”.
Details remain to be confirmed, but if reports thus far are accurate, this attack would be one of, not the deepest, Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian territory to date. It is also a first-time event for this facility. This strategically crucial Russian oil refining and petrochemical center in Tyumen had not reported any drone attacks before Monday.
The Damage Done by the Campaign Against Russian Oil
Previously, Ukrainian drones had been used to strike targets in the Orenburg region in the Urals. This facility, also one of the largest in Russia, is located only slightly closer to the Ukraine border at 1,800 kilometers or 1,110 miles away. Facilities located in the Murmansk region in Russia’s Far North have been hit by Ukraine multiple times. These are again at a considerable distance of around 1,700 kilometers or 1,056 miles from the Ukraine border.
In June of this year, Ukraine also famously launched a large-scale covert drone attack on the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) bomber fleet. Called Operation Spiderweb, strikes were conducted across several Russian regions, hitting five military aerodromes.
In this operation, drones had been concealed under the roofs of pre-fabricated wooden hunting lodges. These buildings were shipped on lorries and delivered to “clients” located near these air bases. They were then launched on signal simultaneously from inside Russia.
“Attacks by Ukrainian drones are the main cause and account for up to 70 percent of the shutdowns” of oil production sites, said Syala’s Vladimir Nikitin. He also pointed out that this has caused scheduled maintenance on some facilities to be deferred to a later date to dispatch maintenance crews to repair and keep damaged refineries still operating.
Russia’s fuel market is reportedly now experiencing a shortfall equal to 20 per cent of the national monthly gasoline demand. This equates to about 400,000 tons out of the 2 million consumed every 30 days, according to the Russian Kommersant business daily.
The average Russian consumer is also beginning to feel the pinch. Approximately 1 in 50 petrol stations have stopped selling automotive gasoline and diesel fuel as nationwide production has already dropped by about 10 percent.

As the hot summer turned humid, I often took the new Amtrak to Washington. Yeah, yeah, I missed the Pennsy heavy dining cars with the waiters seemingly able to float down the aisles missing every chair/table.
Ad rem: In cool comfort, thru the wide window, I could monitor the hill + vale and every Gasoline station for that 5 hour run out of NYC’s penn station.
Hopefully the Orc NAZI-like FSB can sit in their running a/c cars while the urban peasants massively line up for their fuel.
The above article is wonderfully anticipated. I re-call dining with the creator of the Tomahawk so many moons back. As I admired close-up his tomahawk artifacts we made balloon ascensions into the stratosphere about the coming counterfeits. Well, send in the update. We never did fill out the need in 2026 for a myriad of this concepts being volume produced for a shot every second of every minute of every hour 24/7, that is 1X for a whole week. And, not at all a luxury, at 2X or 3X.
Ukraine’s 1000 year ancient Genocide re=start by Obama in 2014 blatantly shows the inner beltway that the Yankee needs to package a demand that the Ruuzzkie ethnic tribe start to become neutral. By themselves, or in concert with the WESR, is a debating point. The inner beltway brain trust can not snore and sneeze as the DNI refuses to tell congress exactly how efficient they are and by whose standards!
As the Inner beltway play pretends that the CCP Xi regime is not covert funding their vassal Putin, the USA relegates itself into a has been.
Ukraine just needs time/finance! The Ukraine can handle the ruuzzkie meat grinder Genocide line and the genetic deviant ruuzzkie families who need to drench themselves in to their ancient Genocide.
The op-ed is correct. The reserve is the only question for the public in America. Once Ukraine has the full 1X or 2X reserve of attack d/m, then the USA can graciously retire from any challenge to the CCP XI regime.
The Xi regime can release slow vectors, like genetic bugs that kill off honey bees in North America, or, say, let the anarchy genetic deviants in the ORC russkiee forces damage 2 or 3 Ukrainian multiple nuclear reactor hubs.
A fast nuclear radioactive contamination vector in europe will allow Xi a free hand for his forces to revise the geopolitical Pacific landscape. Xi will not have to wait for another POTUS Obama type ready + enthusiastic to betray the WEST.
The ruuzzkie shills for the meat grinder trench genocide front line seems to avoid playing out the damage to the world that the Putin shills promote in their genetic need to extirpate Ukrainians + steal FREE real estate. So, let Ukrainians reduce the refining production by 95 %. The shortfall will be made up by the Xi regime + its current LONG GAME.

Looks like Kiev is turning up the heat.
We’ll see how it goes.
But as this war is existential for Russia the military will have first dibs, much as America during WWII gave first priority to war fighting and Americans were heavily rationed during WWII.
There is almost no rationing at present in Russia.
Russia has adapted well to the challenges of war.
This is one of those challenges for sure.
But it won’t stop Russia at the front and that’s what counts.

We’ve heard a lot about longstanding supposed blood feuds of the Old World (they do exist).
But so-called “Ukrainianism” is lot of bunk.
The supposed Ukraine “constitution of 1710” actually gives the game away. It’s a constitutional document written by the Hetman of the Zaporizhian Host, Pylyp Orlyk and the Cossack elders and the Cossacks of the Zaporozhian Army on the 5 April 1710 in the city of Bender (Tighina) in the Principality of Moldavia.
These Cossacks were a collection of disparate men originating in the 15th century from escaped serfs, adventurers, and other free individuals, they were known for their fierce independence, military prowess, and unique self-governing communities, which eventually led to them exchanging military service for autonomy from various states like the Russian Empire.
It wasn’t an ethnic community as such, but more a loose confederation of of men who had common interests. The so-called “Old Ukrainian” language (used in the above document) and the modern Ukrainian language aren’t anything alike. A Ukrainian of today couldn’t read Old Ukrainian because the modern Ukrainian language was made up out of whole cloth as part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire’s revival of so-called “Ukrainianism” in the late 19th Century and the language is mostly an obscure, provincial dialect of Russian with some “pig Latin” spelling variations thrown in for good measure.
To this day so-called “Ukrainians” can understand the Russian language, both in its spoken and written form because it’s so close to Russian, intentionally made that way, so Russian speakers could easily adopt it.
Why not go back to Old Ukrainian? Because the Rus within Astro-Hungary, as they were known, wouldn’t be able to do it. The modern Ukrainian language was set up in Austro-Hungary so Russian speakers could adapt to using it with relative ease, not because it had anything to do with so-called “Old Ukraine.”
It’s important to note Ukrainianism was a stratagem to drain away interest and allegiance within the Slavic population of Austro-Hungarian Empire for the Russian language & culture. It was not because there was any connection at all to so-called Old Ukraine. It was a handy vehicle for the Austro-Hungarian Empire because there was concern in court circles that Slavic people in the eastern lands of the empire weren’t loyal subjects of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
By an accident of history or gross mistake, somehow a stratagem from a defunct empire for draining away interest in Russian language & culture survived the empire, itself.
There is little to no genetic or ethnic connection between the Cossacks of old and the Ukraine of today. It’s a farce and a fraud to claim otherwise.
Now we are stuck with the consequences.
But this time they may have gone too far and face what should have happened when the Austro-Hungarian Empire collapsed at the end of first World War.
Vanished along with the sponsoring empire, itself.

Quite often this op-ed site has the honour of reading the views of genuine Ukrainian-Americans such as Doctor Motyl. There seems to be very few Ukrainian op-ed contributors.
Quite often this peer reader had suggested that the inner beltway Yankee Doodle read a History of Ukraine tome such as by the Author Orest Subtelny. Or, perhaps visit a Ukrainian church as there are many such Ukrainian churches in mainland USA.
The reality of Ukrainians intersects with the crazed genetic breeding of the monghol ruuzzkie ethnic families of muscovy. For centuries, Ruuzkies breed themselves for the physically demanding “HARVEST” caravan expeditions into Ukraine to create the GNP for their limitless number of tsars. The normal in muscovy was slavery on every corner and concubines were legal/numerous in ruzzkie households.
The muslim OTTOMAN empire had a very organized slave business for many centuries. The muslims castrated the little Christian Ukrainian boys that the ruuzzkie orc deviants sold the muslim buyers. This castration had a high death rate and therefore the economic benefit for the Ruzzkie families to frequently “HARVEST” Ukrainian boys was high. The 1710 constitution was written as a tool to deflect the ruuzzkie ritual of deviants always invading Ukraine to “HARVEST” little children for their own needs and resale to the muslims.
The “Lolita” packages of little girls that the Ruzzkie deviant pedophiles harvested for many centuries is more well known. The progeny of these “legal” pedophiles still dream in 2025 of the ruuzzkie glory deflowering days . The progeny of this reality of muscovy wrote the novel “Lolita” for the more Epstein minded readers.
The Fallacies in the above comment are evident and numerous. There is bunk as well.
The reader can note that the most infamous ruuzzkie Genocide of Ukrainians is ignored. The ruzzkie ethnics just loved to dress Halloween style, particularly in Uncle Joe Stalin KGB costumes. Wearing these Halloween costumes ruuzzkies pretended that they were not ruuzzkies as they facilitated the 1932-33 Genocide of 20,000,000 Ukrainians.
The reader can re-read the above comment. However the reader needs to re-think why the MAGA POTUS Trump elite can not demand of Putin the immediate return of all illegally occupied ancient Ukrainian soil. This official POTUS demand will cause the meat grinder Genocide line to wither away as the ruuzzkie butchers self-process the reality that killing Ukrainians will not allow them to keep the stolen Ukrainian soil.
As for Komrade dzzhimms – Farce and fraud -. YES, the two concepts just pour out of ruuzzkie muscovy blather. The need to slowly dissect the fallacies emitted out of ruzzkies like PUTIN, Lavrov and the progeny of this tribe of sex slavers unfortunately falls on the casual inner beltway readers. Who actually had the time or dedication to read Orest Subtelnys “History of Ukraine”? -30-

Cossacks were semi-nomadic roving bands and this was a petition for autonomy within the Russian Empire, seeing it as a reward because they had fought for the empire.
The petition recognized Russian suzerainty, but the Cossacks wanted an autonomous position within the Russian Empire.
These Cossacks wanted to roam the southern reaches of the empire, but govern themselves and remain militarized, as they moved about without interference from local authority.
Important to note: it was never granted or recognized by the Czar & the Russian Empire, who the Cossacks were petitioning for recognition. The petition states self-governing process & procedure among other things in justification for granting the desired status within the empire.
The push for Cossack self-governing privileges subsided after the denial of the 1710 petition (constitution) to the Czar.

The ability to look up data on the internet is well known. The re-typing of some wikepedia generalities does not make a logical arguement.
Typing some keys is what many op-ed seem to excel at. The PR for various air frames is a current addiction. What op-ed contributor has avoided touting inner beltway readers in the wonders of small population Canada pouring big tax cash into the F-35? The miracle: zero op-ed touts are forcing big population wealthy Mexico to legally purchase F-35 air frames to protect their cartel business empires.
Ukrainian history is ancient and complex. Reading a history such as Orest Subtelny’s History of Ukraine gives the Yankee a peek at the facts.
Reading a single peer reader’s comments, dzhimmm’s, may be a dive into farce and fraud.
The need to neuter and neutralize the prime vile long-term cold war enemy of the WEST, Putin’s ruuzzkie terrorist imperial empire, grows with every week.
The overall question is if the MAGA POTUS elite can conceptualize the reality of the prime vile long-term cold war enemy of the USA, let alone the WEST.
The need of the centuries of ruuzzkie czars to run legal mass abduction slave economies with concubines in every bedroom seems to escape the self-examination of the street corner moscovy as well as the post 1777 regular Yankee doodle dandy.
The MAGA POTUS of 2025 must demand in one simple sentence that Putin immediately returns all illegally stolen Ukrainian soil and human trafficked children. That one demand will wither the meat grinder Genocide front the ruuzzkies genetic need has generated for centuries.
Or course, a few European leaders might feel conceptually clear to demand the same return of stolen Ukrainian soil from the tsarling Putin. Try it, European leaders, you might like the implications. -30-

There’s nothing wrong with Cossack history.
It just doesn’t have anything to do with modern so-called “Ukraine” history.
The Austro-Hungarian Empire history of reviving so-called “Ukrainianism” does relate to modern Ukraine.
So does the fact these Ukes ran a civil internment camp (concentration camp) Thalerhof for the Austro-Hungarian government and murdered tens of hundreds of Rus, by hanging, who refused to accept “Ukrainianism” under horrific conditions.
So does the fact they acted as the Bolsheviks’ jailers and enforcers in southern Russia after the Red-White Civil War from 1917 to 1922. Thousands of Russians were imprisoned, tortured, or killed at the hands of these foreign “Ukrainians” at the direction of Lenin & the Bolsheviks and later under Stalin.
So does the fact these Ukrainian followers of Stepan Bandera, and Bandera, himself, after he was released from custody by the Nazis in September 1944, murdered tens of thousands of Poles, Russians, and Jews at the close of World War Two while they were wearing Nazi uniforms and acting under color of Nazi authority.
And from 2015 to 2022 they engaged in random shelling of their fellow Ukrainian citizens (Russian speakers) in Donetsk City, over 10,000 died in these terror attacks.
They love to be the enforcers for others’ ruthless & vicious schemes and murder in their own right, too.
Yes, all that history is relevant.
And it’s all true.
